We are very excited to announce that we are now advertising for our new Southampton Youth Voice Young Researcher Training Programme. The young people involved in the project will be encouraged to develop their own research questions about what a Youth Voice Service could look like and how young people’s voices should be included in a Youth Voice service. In order for their research questions to relate to Southampton City Council’s priorities, service leaders in the community will be invited to some of the sessions to talk about Southampton City Council’s priority themes.
Applicants must be between 14-18 years old and
live in Southampton. Sessions will be held in-person at LifeLab, Southampton
General Hospital, on Wednesday evenings from 5-7pm. We are particularly
keen to engage with young people with lived experience of special educational
needs and who are/have been care-experienced/care-leavers because these young
people are often underrepresented.
As mentioned in the application form, we welcome video responses for Qs 16, 17 & 18 if applicants would rather not submit written responses. Application form link: bit.ly/SouthamptonYouthVoiceYoungResearcherTrainingProgramme. The deadline for applying is Sunday 10th November at 11:59pm and interviews will be held on Thursday 14th November.
